2021 Chicken & Egg Award recipient Jialing Zhang in the field

 

  • We provided over $1 million in grants to 45 women and gender nonconforming documentary filmmakers based in 10 countries 

  • We hired 2 new staff members to build internal capacity and expand our programs

  • 6 international, advanced-career filmmakers received funding and mentorship as recipients of the Chicken & Egg Award 

 

  • 10 documentaries by first- and second-time directors participated in the (Egg)celerator Lab, and the filmmakers pitched their projects at Sheffield Doc/Fest to an audience of 400+ 

  • We imagined new ways to support our filmmaker community, and we implemented new AlumNest programming such as story workshops and 1:1 meetings

  • Through Project: Hatched, 12 social issue films were awarded a total of $240k for their impact and engagement campaigns. Project:Hatched 2022 Open Call will launch in December!
